Travel and Tourism in the UK is looking forward to a spectacular season - and The Edinburgh Woollen Mill is delighted to be a major part of this enterprise.
Already well established as a UK-wide retailer of fashion and traditional looks for men and women - the Company also boasts an impressive portfolio of tourist attractions throughout the Country. As part of the "Simply the Best" tourist initiative, The Edinburgh Woollen Mill blazes a trail from Trerulefoot in the South East corner of England to the most northern point of the British mainland at John O' Groats.
Highlights along the trail are the Scottish Deer Centre at Cupar - with fourteen species of deer, the largest collection in Europe, scenic pathways, treetop walkways, as well as a Highland Smokehouse selling a delicious range of smoked kippers, trout and salmon. The Scottish Wool Centre at Aberfoyle offers spinning and weaving demonstrations and visitors are daily treated to an amazing performance by the famous 'sheepducks' - a team of canny collies who specialise in 'duck round-ups'. History enthusiasts will enjoy a day at Moffat Mill - a leading 'speciality shop' stocking the largest selection of tweeds, tartans and knitwear in Scotland, where visitors can watch weavers working on traditional Hattersley looms while they shop. And still in keeping with tradition, The Edinburgh Woollen Mill operates Clan and Tartan Centres, rich in the history of Scottish Clan history where individual Clan certificates can be printed and purchased.
For a true taste of Scotland, enjoy a free whisky tasting in 'The Spirit of Scotland Whisky Shops' dedicated to the art of true Malt Whisky and stocking over 150 top brands, some of which are not available outside Scotland. And continuing the party spirit, The Edinburgh Woollen Mill host a range of special 'Scottish Events' at Leith Mills in Edinburgh and selected locations, which can be booked exclusively and tailor-made to visitor itineraries.
